On the front of medical innovation, "Noos" explores how gene therapy allowed Simone, suffering from a rare genetic disease that prevents the production of dopamine, to walk again. Thanks to an innovative procedure at the Policlinico Umberto I in Rome, a harmless virus introduced a healthy copy of the defective gene into his DNA, altering only the dopamine-producing neurons.
