Ru Yu opens up to Jiu Si about her family life on their way back to Gu manor, and they get along better. Jiu Si is happy to have Ru Yu’s confidence in him but still struggles with studying. To distract her from getting him to study, he challenges her to go after her ambitions and when she does, he misses her constant presence. He finds her buried deep in the Gu family shops’s accounting books, trying to understand the business.
