Isabelle Sophie Emilie Blais (born June 21, 1975) is a Canadian film and television actress and singer. Born in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Blais is a graduate of the Montreal campus of the Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique du Québec. She first attracted critical attention for her stage performance as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and in 2001 for her role in Soft Shell Man directed by André Turpin. In 2002, she appeared in George Clooney’s Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The following year she won a Jutra Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Québec-Montréal directed by Ricardo Trogi, and also appeared in Denys Arcand’s The Barbarian Invasions. In 2004, she took a leading role in Les Aimants directed by Yves Pelletier, earning nominations for a Jutra Award for Best Actress and a Genie Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. In 2007, she appeared in a supporting role in Sur la trace d’Igor Rizzi directed by Noël Mitrani. Blais is also a singer with the Québécois rock group Caïman Fu. In 2010, she returned to the screen in Yves Pelletier’s Le Baiser du barbu and in Deborah Chow’s The Price (Le Prix à payer).
